FAC Manager™
How are these major factors affecting you today?
- Power uprate (more uncertainty in wear rates)
- Deregulation (fewer resources)
- License renewal (greater demands on plant piping)
- Plant aging (decreased margins)
- Short outages (little time to inspect and evaluate)
At a time when FAC Programs face increased challenges, there are fewer and fewer resources available. The inevitable result is that time and money spent on FAC continues to decrease over time. Our goal is to help you reduce spending without sacrificing program effectiveness.
We understand the pressures you face. For more than ten years, we have worked with our clients to find effective solutions to their FAC problems. Then we refined those solutions into one powerful application to reduce the time you spend on your FAC program.
Introducing FAC Manager™, innovative software designed specifically to save you time. FAC Manager™ will help you prepare for your outages faster, get through them faster, and document your results faster. FAC Manager™, it's about time.
FAC Manager™ is already in service at 54 nuclear and 35 fossil units in the US and Canada. For more information:

"We use FAC Manager for several reasons: First, it is V&Ved, so we can use it to evaluate inspections on Safety-Related components. Second, its multi-user capability allows us to share FAC events data between sites. Finally, it gives us a consistent way of doing business at all ten sites, so a FAC Engineer from one site can support another site's outage without a learning curve. CSI has done a great job supporting us. They installed and tested FAC Manager at each site, and their technical support line is answered by an actual human being, someone who knows the software and can solve problems immediately."
– Roman Gesior, Director, Asset Management, Exelon Corporation
"We are a CANDU plant and refuel online, therefore our operating cycles vary in length. Our version of FAC Manager accounts for this with dynamic reinspection scheduling: The UT data is evaluated during the outage based on estimated future cycle lengths. A bulk recalculation based on actual capacity factor is performed later, to firm up the reinspection dates. We also use FAC Manager to track thinning in our feeder [primary side] piping. A particular advantage is that, because of its open database architecture, our engineers can write custom queries and reports as needed. CSI has been responsive to our requests, and provided clear and helpful technical support."
– John Slade, Technical Supervisor, Point Lepreau Generating Station, New Brunswick Power Corporation
"FAC Manager allows us to evaluate and disposition UT and RT inspection data very quickly, which is especially important now that outages are getting shorter. We use FAC Manager because it makes us more efficient, and because the interface and reports were tailored to our needs. For example, the Outage Summary Report was specifically formatted to satisfy our procedural requirements for post-outage documentation, and can be generated in just a few minutes."
– Dave Rollins, P.E., FAC Program Engineer, Fort Calhoun Station, Omaha Public Power District
"Using FAC Manager software and BWR VIP-75 approval reduced [our inspection] scope 75%."
– U3C10 HIT Teams Report, Browns Ferry Nuclear Station, Tennessee Valley Authority
